People from the State of Gujarat, India have different eating habits, but their basic meal is a thali. Many people think that Indian cuisine is spicy, but a Gujarati thali is made up of items cooked with a delicate blend of spices.

A thali typically is made up of a selection of dishes consisting of an appetizer, kathod (lentils or beans), potatoes, vegetables, dal, rice, papad, raita (yoghurt), bread (roti, puri, paratha, thepla or bhakhari) and mithai (sweet).

During festival times in India, a thali will contain more specialized mouth watering sweet items such as kheer, ras malai, burfi and ladoo.

At Vatica, our specialty is the thali. Items served change daily based on seasonal vegetables. We also serve chaat items and sell a variety of snacks and sweets.
